Day 2Amarnath darshan by helicopter
Early morning drive to Baltal and fly by helicopter to Panchtarni. From there, go about 7 km one way to the holy Amarnath cave (3,888 m) on foot, by pony or by doli (own cost) for darshan of the ice Shiva Linga. Overnight in a basic group tent at Panchtarni; free meals are served at the langar pandals.

Day 3Panchtarni – Baltal – Sonamarg
After darshan and breakfast, take the return helicopter to Baltal and drive to the hotel in Sonamarg to rest. Overnight in Sonamarg.

Day 4Sonamarg – Srinagar
Drive to Srinagar and visit Shankaracharya Hill, Chashme Shahi and the Botanical Garden. Overnight on a deluxe houseboat.

Day 5Srinagar – Gulmarg – Srinagar
Day trip to the meadows of Gulmarg (2,730 m); the Gondola ride is at own cost and depends on weather. Return to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar. Sightseeing other than Amarnath is optional, if time permits.

Good to know
Only pilgrims aged 14 to 70 years are allowed on the Amarnath Yatra (Shrine Board rule). Children below 14 and adults above 70 cannot be booked.
During the Deepavali and Christmas season, package prices are 30% higher than the rates shown.
Helicopter tickets are complimentary when available on the official booking website. If tickets are not available, or the helicopter does not fly, the amount is not refundable, as the Shrine Board does not refund it.
During the yatra, travel is allowed only at times permitted by the police and army for security. The programme may change, and any extra cost from delays is payable on the spot.
Please walk at least 2 km daily for 3 months before the yatra. Not advised for guests with severe asthma or heart problems.
